Twins of Eden Weapon Guide by Reinbex

Hey, Captains! Today we're featuring the new Pistols weapon released in v4.0: Twins of Eden.

Weapon Intro

5★ ATK: 287; CRIT: 21

Weapon Skills

★ Stats below are all Lv.50 figures.

Fruit of Knowledge
[SP: 6] [CD: 18s] Fires a Grav bomb at target lasting 7s and dealing 600% ATK of Physical DMG. The damage is boosted by 150% against shield. While Grav Bomb exists, [Grav Lock] is inflicted on the target if their shield breaks, disabling them and freezing shield regen for 3s. Grav Bomb explodes in 3s dealing 500% ATK of AOE Physical DMG. The generation of Grav Lock and explosion of Grav Bomb both grant 12.0% bonus team Physical DMG for 9s (can be refreshed but not stacked). Grav Bomb instantly explodes if hitting enemies with no or broken shield.

Original Sin
The generation of Grav Lock and explosion of Grav Bomb both weaken enemies in the area, lowering their DEF by 65% for 9s (can be refreshed but not stacked).

Key of Devouring
In co-op raids, character gains 40.0% Crit DMG and 5.0% Crit Rate.

Skill Review

This new weapon has plenty of things going on so let's analyze its weapon skills!

Fruit of Knowledge
Does shield-breaking, stops shield-regen, and provides team Physical DMG bonus. The Twins of Eden's active weapon skill, for a low sp-cost and moderate cooldown timer, damages (especially against shields) marks a single target. The marked target will have a big red cursor [Grav Bomb] for 7s while their shield is up.

Within these 7s, including the instant the target gets marked, if the target's shield breaks (even a teammate can do the breaking), the target gets Grav Lock and Grav Bomb explodes an AOE of Physical DMG 3s afterwards. Keep in mind that this delayed explosion is a form of attack from the wielder; Grav Bomb can trigger the wielder's debuff stigmatas like Newton B even when the wielder is off-field.

With Grav Lock, the inflicted will be disabled/immobilized and their shield regen pauses for 3s.

And lastly, Grav Lock invocation and Grav Bomb detonation both apply and reapply a 12% Physical DMG bonus for the team (9s). Although small, this buff lasts for a good while for the entire team.

Original Sin
A passive skill that inflicts only impairment! Despite the wording, this passive skill does not invoke the Weaken status! The instant the enemy (with the Grav Bomb still active) has their shield broken, Grav Lock will be generated on them and thus a 65% Impair for 9s. After 3s, the Grav Bomb will detonate an AOE DMG that also applies (and reapplies) a new 9s 65% Impair. This will give any enemies within the range of that explosion 9s of Impair and a grand total of 12s Impair for the one that had Grav Lock applied onto it.

Indication of having a Grav Bomb

Keep in mind that if you use your weapon skill on a shieldless enemy, a Grav Bomb will just explode immediately for an AOE Physical DMG and immediate 9s Impair. There will be no Grav Lock.

Essentially, the best skill that this weapon has to offer is long term and AOE Impair. While 65% is not on the high side, it's not too much on the low end either, making the weapon a good choice for impairing.

Key of Devouring
A small Crit Rate bonus and large Crit DMG bonus for the user. It's not too bad of a buff but it only applies to co-op raids unfortunately.

Divine Key

The Twins of Eden provides a new attribute skill, Devouring Sync I. When you get your hands on the weapon and sync it, all your valkyries will receive a permanent +10 ATK at all times. This can be small, but it's a rather significant small boost.

Apart from this attribute skill, this new form of the Star of Eden unfortunately does not provide any new Gene Limits.

You should also keep in mind that because the Twins of Eden is a gacha-only weapon, much like the Might of An-Utu, it requires Honkai Cubes to upgrade, not jades.

Comparison to other Weapons

Here is a chart comparison between all impairing Pistols at their max levels.

All of these pistols do an AOE Impairment and have a 18 SP-cost except for Twins of Eden; ToE will cost the least to activate its weapon skill.

  • Mjolnir is great for quickly invoking a massive and yet short-lasting Impair, making it ideal for teams that utilize quickly switching in to deal quick bursts of DMG.
  • XY pistols is a weaker and f2p friendly variant of Mjolnir but it has a slightly longer cast time and is only available from specific event shops.
  • ARC Serratus is semi support and semi-damage. It has both a long CD and a medium SP-cost with a weak impair that can be built up to be stronger. It takes time to get the same impair as XY pistols but lasts much longer, not ideal for time-constraint stages but good for supporting Melee Physical Teams like VD and BKE.
  • And lastly, the Twins of Eden does not impair immediately but the next teammate can come in a trigger the longlast impair. Despite the medium cooldown, it has a very low SP-cost and cast time as well as a high shield-break capability. And in addition, it comes with a small Physical buff for the team that lasts for quite a good amount of time. The Twins of Eden is a great support weapon for DPS members who need more time to deal tons of damage.

Recommended For

Kiana (Support)

Gustav TM and Newton B

Pretty much all if not all the Kianas can make good use of the Twins of Eden. It just depends on which ability you need from the corresponding battlesuits, be it Time Fracture, super long Time Fracture, gather CC, etc. The proper idea is to mark one target with Grav Bomb and to try to get all other enemies (if any) close to the target. After, you would want to switch to the DPS to quickly trigger the Grav Bomb and Grav Lock. Doing so will line up all buffs and debuffs nicely in time for tons of damage.

Closing thoughts

The Twins of Eden is a new Divine Key and Pistols weapon that specializes in shield breaking and prolonged AOE impairing. Because of its delayed effects and benefits, Physical Teams with DPS who can deal tons of damage with a moderate amount of time, such as Night Squire and Bright Knight: Excelsis, deeply enjoy the effects of the weapon.
